Today the McGuinty Liberals abused Parliamentary rules to ram through the largest singles sales tax grab in Ontario history.

Despite intense opposition from middle class families, seniors and small businesses to the HST, the McGuinty Government has actively worked to ensure that the vast majority of Ontario taxpayers will have no opportunity to take part in public consultations on the tax.

The McGuinty Government deliberately denied Opposition Members of Provincial Parliament their Parliamentary Rights in order to assist the Minister of Finance in ramming 2nd reading of the record setting tax grab through.

The Official Opposition Caucus is now engaged in aggressive disruption tactics in the Legislature, to prevent the McGuinty Liberals from abusing the Parliamentary Process. Ontario PC MPPs are prepared to risk ejection from the Legislature in order to ensure the rights of taxpayers are protected.
